Had a great time at the Castle. The grandchildren, daughter, son-in-law & son plus us. Had more than enough room to enjoy ourselves without being crowded like some vacations. Saw elk, deer, wild turkeys and even a black bear & cub. We enjoyed the balcony for reading in daytime and star gazing at night. Saw 15 satelites, 10 shooting stars and even the Milky Way, but no Snickers. Thank you Marcy for all your help and for the toss game we found for the children. The dungeon was great for games. The thunder storm was awesome at night , we even loved that. Can't wait to tell our friends about the Castle. Ron & Carol

 

A wonderful weekend at the Castle. The Dungeon is an amazing addition. "We hosted our own version of The Newlywed Game and the space served our purpose. We saw a few elk and heard lots of them. Just a great time of laughter and fun. The weather couldn't have been any better. God blessed us with a great weekend all around. Will visit again next year. Connie, Gary and Guests

 

The Castle was so fun to stay at. I was real close to the elk. Everything was awesome and amazing. I had a fun time. Laura Age 10.

 

Bet you had fun designing,  building & decorating your Castle! Thank you for letting so many people enjoy it. We loved the Castle- saw elk bugling in our private meadow & enjoyed seeing more elk along Winslow Hill Rd. It's beautiful country! The Castle must be the most luxurious in the area! A great get-away weekend. The first night we went to sleep listening to the elk bugling and coyotes howling. So peaceful. We took around 400 pictures mostly of the elk, and some deer and turkey. I have pics of at least 5- 6X6's and larger. With two of them being absolute beautes. Oh and thanks for allowing us the privilege of being there when the final touches were done on the bar in the Dungeon. What a creative masterpiece, one of a kind. Already looking forward to next year. Now back to the hustle & bustle of every day living. Derek and Sue

 

August 29th 2009 was the best day of our lives. We arrived Friday to be amazed by this beautiful Castle. We set up the Dungeon for our reception. Saturday morning arrived and we awoke to the sound of elk bugling. The cateres arrived to set up a delicious meal. The Benezette Hotel catered the meal. The cake arrived and The Mayor of St. Marys to marry us. The wedding ceremony was in the living room, I came down the stairs to an arch in front of the windows. After the ceremony a reception was held in the Dungeon. MacDarvey Castle truly made our day. Thanks Marcy & Dave. With love George & Alesha. We enjoyed our stay at the Castle. We celebrated a birthday so we made a Castle cake with tinted coconut all around. It looked elegant in the beautiful dining room. We loved the furnishings at the Castle. Oh yes we came to see elk- Grandfather saw 1 herd of 27 and several other sightings. Saw elk from living room of the Castle. Many beautiful deer so graceful as they leaped about. Kitchen was well equipped for our gourmet-Julia Child's meals. Grandfather wanted to stay to see more he was a zoo director for 35 years so you know he loved the wildlife. Howard & Dorothy & Guests
